Online DVD rental in the UK is now cheap and reliable enough for everyone with an internet connection and a letterbox. How does it work? There are many companies that offer DVD rental by post. For some you pay per DVD, others you pay a monthly flat-fee.
Monthly flat-fee DVD rental
This method is fast becoming the most popular, even Tesco is offering it. It is attractive because for a fixed fee per month you can watch as many DVD's as you like. It costs approximately £10 per month, and through their website you usually create a 'wishlist' of DVD's that you want to watch. They send you a number of DVD's (1-4 usually, depending on the DVD rental company) from the top of your wishlist, and you watch them at your leisure - there is usually no deadline for returning them. As soon as you return them, they send you another 3 from the top of your wishlist, and so on. The selection of DVD films is usually very good, better than you will find in most local rental shops.Pay per single DVD rental This method is probably better if you don't watch many DVD films. The advantages of doing it online are that you usually have a better selection to choose from, and you can do it from your home - especially useful if you don't have a local DVD rental shop. However, the rental fee is not much different to those in local rental shops.

Accounts for DVD rental by post are operated online where you create a wishlist of DVD's that are sent to you
by first class post. The number of DVD's you can watch is limited by how quickly you can watch them and
then post them back (usually in a pre-paid envelope) and then the length of time it takes the DVD rental company
to post you the next DVD's on your wishlist.
